“Bernie Mahorse/Macart fires off 43 points to blitz the field”

Twenty golfers took up the challenge today at King’s Naga, two buses and a few cars were required to ferry all out to the course.

A word of warning for those venturing out to King’s Naga, road works are under full steam and you can be caught up for an extra half hour both in and out. A bit of an inconvenience but as most of us are retired it’s a small hiccup!

Well it’s Thursday and a game of pain & suffering called golf is about to begin. The course was in good nick and offered plenty of run. Bunkers were clean and raked, Fairways tidy, but the greens I found to be a little slow. Putting close to the greens was a little difficult as the buffalo grass certainly took the speed from the ball. Although I do believe that one golfer used his putter when a meter from the green and he actually sank the putt giving him a Birdie. (Par 3) All in all if they improved the showers in the place I do believe that numbers would improve. It is priced right!

Our five groups teed off about 10 min earlier than our allotted tee time, and can say we were not held up at all. Twenty golfers insured that we would play two flights with all 6 novelties in play.

A-Flight saw Martin Kempton take the show with a good score of 39 points, second home was Takeshi Hakozaki who on the Par 4 eighth hole shot an EAGLE yes in the cup in two. Well done Takeshi! Third past the post where a group of four golfers, but unfortunately with only one place left on the podium it’s to the count back and three golfers will miss out. Ian Ward filled the last spot and the unlucky three were, The Viper Mark Stapleton, Keith Kissy Buchanan and newcomer Jon Dean.

Worth a mention Buffalo Bills near hole in one probably 6mm from the hole, unlucky Bill!

B-Flight saw the score of the day posted, Bernie McCart came home with an excellent score of 43 points. Leaving us this week, Colin Stielow came in second six shots behind the winner! Andrew Turtle Allen round of the placings.
