Golf Chairman Report of October 2019

Hello to all PSC Golfers, time for a few more brief words from your Golf Chairman.

For technical reasons, there was no newsletter in September but being the lowest of all low seasons, there was not that much to report. Except perhaps for our “Special” September Event at Eastern Star. See Full Report:-

Soi Dao gets underway tomorrow (Mon 7th Oct) with 16 golfers, playing in a 2 day medal tournament with both our Vice President (Tim Knight) and Treasurer (John Player) hoping to lift their games enough to finish on the podium, at least for one of the days! If not the overall.

Much of my time has been taken up with the development of the new PSC USGA Handicap App and we are currently making the final adjustments before it’s imminent release in the next 10 days, when it needs to undergo some testing by you guys. However, I am very pleased with it’s ease of use and design. It will be free to all PSC members and will provide you with an Official USGA Handicap, just as the existing website currently does.

The rest of my time, not only involves working at the very local course, Parichat International Links which is continuing to improve, as more and more of you take advantage of the excellent prices on offer there.

But also, together with our PSC staff, trying to negotiate reasonable rates for our golfing members, ahead of the anticipated start of the “High Season”, on the 1st November. We have some in the bag already but there is still work to do.

Happy Golfing!
