Just 8 players today for Silky Oak as a few of our regulars tried Green Valley even thou they had a couple of holes out of play , Silky Oak was in perfect condition and the weather was on our side as well. Gary Emmett has been playing well lately but today was a bit special, with a triple on one hole he still had 76 gross for the best round of his life way ahead of anyone else , Next was Kevin McEntee no stranger to the pay window with 36 pts beating Stan Smith also 36 pts on countback 19/18 on the back nine. Due to the small numbers there were no Near Pin’s today

Eastern Star
Just 7 players for todays visit to Eastern Star, The 1st time there for about 2 years, and a nice supprise as we got there a green ,caddy fee and cart 1200 bht ,the course in excellent condition and even after last nights rain carts were allowed on the fairways, so we played it as it lies. But we thought the fairways would still be soft so we played from the yellow tees 6100 yds with a slope ratting of 116 next time we will be back to the white tees 6575 yds. New boy Lee Smith off his 33 hcp boomed the 1st 3 holes for 9 pts but then he soon got reeled in after a couple of wide shots and some poor putting, when he gets his short game together15/16 hcp would be about right, but today he was playing with the Donkey and its all about mind games, level after 9 holes, then he started to crumble and with Stan Paying up in advance their was no stopping the old man
1st Colin Davis (18) 38 pts
2nd Lee Smith (33) 34 pts

Burapha C&D
Just 5 players today mainly due to tomorrows scramble at St Andrews. Most of us cannot play 3 days running anymore, Old Fathertime marches on! The weather perfect for golf, overcast but no rain. The only problem was we thought we were playing A & B only to find we had a competition on there so we had to play C & D – not our favourite courses, but nothing we could do about it. Stan out for revenge over The Donkey started off full of expectations and after 5 holes was6 shots ahead. The Donkey was having a mare of a start, then he got his head together and started to pull back the deficit. Slowly hole by hole and with a birdy on no.8 edged in front.
1st Colin Davis (18) 38pts
2nd Stan Smith (33) 34pts

Mountain Shadow
Just 8 players today after yesterday’s scramble at St Andrews, congrats to the Dream Team, cart allowed on fairway so play the ball as it lies. Two groups of 4 balls first out Stan Smith, Stan Stewart, Steve Baker and The Donkey. This is not the easiest of courses anytime but today we made real hard work of it. Only one to shine was Stan Smith with 21 points on the front and 15 on the back. Steve Baker was not the man he was yesterday but saved his round with a chip in on stroke index 1 hole for 5 points. If it had not hit the pin it would have been in the far bunker. The 2nd group of Mashi Kaneta, Barry Oats, Mick Coughlan and Bob Lindberg making a come back after a string of medical problems, only Barry played anything like with the only near pin and 3rd place with 33 points.
1st Stan Smith (33) 36 points
2nd Steve Baker (20) 34 points
3rd Barry Oats (25) 33 points
