Colin’s Golf 24/06
The Geordie Destroyer Strikes
Another good turnout today 24 player’s despite the rain in Pattaya we set off at 8.30am under grey & wet sky’s but as we travelled down the motorway the sky’s lightened and the rain stopped, the god’s were looking down on golfer’s today. We had a choice today which tees you wanted to play a blue flt and a white flt and it went almost 50/50 and with the new slope system there was a big difference in the score’s for some people, unfortunately not this scribe, A flt was dominated by a Pleasant Valley regular Gordon (trigger) Ramsay with 38 pts and he nearly blew it on the 18th , then this weeks man in form from county Galway Gerry Raftery with 36 pts and in 3rd place Mike Allidi who had a great front nine level gross but found a bit of trouble on the back to finish 35 pts. But what can we say about Bflt Ted Morris ( the Geordie Destroyer) 77 years young with a nett 79 just 2 short of playing to his age walked the course just 48 pts (3 birdies back to back) a near pin & longest putt left the rest of the field gasping 2nd place went to Colm O’Donavan just pipping Tip Briney both with 41 pts on countback. The Near Pin’s were claimed by Nim, Alistar G, Peter Hynard & Ted Morris and the longest putt Ted Morris.
Back at the Phantom Bar for presentation we were treated to Chilli Con Carne & Rice complements of Colin’s Bar. And the lucky snow ball draw was won by Torben Lindgaard.
