Colin’s Golf 07/05

Sunday 7th May

St. Andrew’s

We had 15 players today to try out St Andrews since all the greens had been cored 3 weeks ago and the general opinion was preety good they had also cut down the rough as well’ the greens were a bit slow but not bumpy all in all not bad for the price. As in all games it’s a game of two half’s King of the front was Guido frish with 21pts and 1 blob’ 1 shot back was the Donkey but clear leader on the back was john dearden with 24 ptsand no blobs . But the overall on count back was the Donkey with a total of 37 pts 17pts on the back, guido had 37 pts with 16pts back and john only had 11pts on the front to go with that very good back nine. The rest of the field were in the low 30’s and had a nice day . the near pins were claimed by Guido, john Dearden,Frank tordeur & Garry Emmett.

Mountain Shadow

Just 6 players today for Mountain Shadow and when we got to the course the car park was almost empty, So as soon as we checked in and got changed it was straight offwith 2 x 3 balls and a totally empty golf course ahead of us, We flew round but the course was taking its toll with tricky pin placements on the fast greens. The first group were out in 1 ¾ hrs and just got in before the heavens opened up, the 2nd group felt the full force of it for the last 2 holes, Yet again there was no stopping the Donkey who was just a shadow of yesterday with 33 pts, followed by Aidan with 30 pts

1st    Colin Davis    (19)            33 pts

2nd   Aidan Murray (23)          30 pts

Near Pin    Colin Davis
