CAFÉ KRONBORG 25/2
ARNE MAX PEDERSEN MAXES AT 40 POINTS
CAFÉ KRONBORG AT PATTAYA COUNTRY CLUB 25TH FEB 2019
Cafe Kronborg played Pattaya Country Club on Monday 25th February, where the course was in good condition with softer than usual fairways due to rain the previous day. Greens were slick and for the first time in a while the greens on the back nine were as fast as the front. A full sign-up sheet promised a hard fight for the podium positions.
Back in the clubhouse the cards revealed some good scores, especially in A flight, although only one person nailed it and beat their handicap.
There were 2 flights with the A flight 0 to 24 and the B flight 25 and above.
The A Flight winner was Arne Max Pedersen, with an outstanding 40 points, the score of the day and the only person to beat his handicap. Arne’s first big points haul since his return 3 weeks ago. On those greens his putter must have been so hot that it was close to melting. In second place was Jan Lovgreen with a solid 35 points. Jan joining the big boys in A flight after a recent cut to 24, and proving worthy of the promotion. Juha Turku took third place with a respectable 34 points, Juha and his wife Mia joining us again for their annual holiday from the chilly climes of Finland. Fourth place was decided on countback with 2 players having 33 points. Podium regular Peter Bygballe took the spoils with a flawless 18 points on the back, beating Ronnie Ratte who after a storming 20 points on the front cooled off somewhat and only made 13 points on the back.
In B Flight the winner was Elias Magnusson with 34 points, Elias struggling of late and previously just enjoying taking part, but today things came together and first prize was his reward. In second place was Peter Hammond with 32 points, Peter starting like a rocket with 20 points on the front, but this pace proving hard to maintain on the back. Not to be outdone by her husband Mia Turku took third place in B flight with 31 points. Fourth place was again decided on a three way countback, three players having 29 points. Strong finishing Birgit Jorgensen once again won the countback with a flawless 18 points on the back, relegating Kurt Sandgaard with 15 points and Steen Habersaat with 14 points into the also rans.
All near pins and long putts were claimed today, a lot of people being on song today. The new 10 seater buses made the journey much more comfortable and when full are the best value golf transport in Pattaya.
