ABSENT FRIENDS DAY
DECEMBER 16TH – FOUR PERSON SCRAMBLE
LIMITED NUMBERS AVAILABLE = SIGN UP NOW
We were welcomed by some dark, overcast skies this morning but these soon gave way to some watery sun. But around the 9th green we were treated to, what sounded like extracts from Beethoven’s 5th, in stereo, with lightning by Technicolor and a threat of water world. Fortunately we did not have to take shelter for the weather took pity on us but it was obvious someone was having some very bad weather. On our way to the Billabong we realized, from the flooded roads, that the courses at Siam had the worst of this hostility. The Billabong ladies were playing in the Green Valley member’s competition but Khun Da decided to take on the men and made a valiant effort on the front nine with 23 points but the wheels fell off thereafter and she finished with 32 points with 6 holes that did not register a point. Keith Allen, in a rich vein of form at the moment, had a similar experience having 24 points on the front nine and with a handicap of 15 was level par off the stick. The wheels were certainly corrupted on the back nine with just 15 points but 39 was sufficient to leave everyone trailing in his wake. Murray Hart, only 2 points after 3 holes came back well to have the better of a count back with 38 points from Roger Emery who came 3rd. The ever present Lloyd Shuttleworth was the best of the rest in 4th place with 35 points. As an indication that the greens are returning to normal there were five 2s going to Khun da, Keith Allen, Murray Hart, John Fitzgerald and Mitch Black.
