BRAVEHEARTS BOUNCE BACK AT MOUNTAIN SHADOW
The much-anticipated re-match of the Olde Rogues Ryder Cup Challenge between the Bravehearts and the Hackers took place at Mountain Shadow and was magnificently supported by 40 golfers. There are so many people to thank for making this such a successful day with special thanks going to Kesorn and the staff of The Olde Rogues and The Snug for the wonderful spread and to all the golfers who took part with a special mention to David Marshall, Frank McArdle, Kenny Jepson and Andrew Southworth for filling in at the last moment.
The Hackers took what looked like an unassailable lead after the 4 balls to lead by 11-1/2 points to 8-1/2 which was strengthened with the leading scores in the singles all seeming to go in their favour. However, it was the latter scores in the singles which swayed the result in the favour of the Bravehearts as they dominated the lower order to run out winners by 21-1/2 points to 18-1/2.
The gold medal winner was Dave Hewson who played magnificently for his 37 points. His all-round game was something to behold on what was a challenging course from the Blue tees.
