PSC SUPPORTS THE THIRD PERFUME HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
PATTAYA SPORTS CLUB SUPPORTS THE THIRD
PERFUME HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Although PSC are happy to promote sports for Thai children which includes badminton, table tennis, golf, swimming, volleyball and various sports at individual centres, football – the most popular sport with the children- has slipped under the radar.
Until now!
For the third year running, the Perfume House has organized this football tournament held at the Planet Football complex in Siam Country Club Road for children in the 9, 11, and 13 age groups from clubs and schools in the area and held on September 29th.
300 children turned up for an early start full of enthusiasm and raring to go . Each player was given a shirt with the Pattaya Sports Club logo on the back and with registration complete, they were ready for the kick off. Planet football has three pitches which enables them to accommodate 300 children and, as you can imagine, managing this number of players could be a logistical nightmare but, perhaps surprisingly, games were played on time. The standard of football, particularly in the knockout stages was amazing and there were some brilliant individual performances and a bright future for many, should they intend to pursue football as a part of their future.
A break from the intense rivalry of the children came when a team of has-beens, sorry VIPs, played a team from City Hall. Fortunately some nurses were standing by with a supply of oxygen at the ready.
All the funds raised in the previous 2 years have been donated to charity and this year will go towards the new building that the Father Ray Foundation are planning for children with special needs.
The Mayor of Nongprue was there to close the event and present the winners with their prizes.
This event is very popular with the children and looks to be a permanent fixture on the calendar.
