Jester Fair 2013
JESTERS 16TH ANNUAL FAIR.
Sunday, 8th September
The biggest charity event in Thailand – the Jesters Care For Kids Fair – takes place every year at the beginning of September and has been run very successfully by Woody and his merry band for 16 years, the last 11 years from the Diana Driving Range. But due to circumstances beyond their control it was necessary to find a new venue. Not an easy task when you consider how many people attend but the Regents School came up trumps.
It would be surprising if there weren’t some reservations about having to move from familiar surroundings to something new but all concerns disappeared when everyone witnessed the fantastic venue, which was Regents School. A little further to travel than previously, but what resembled a train of baht buses, was organized with the pick-up point outside the Father Ray Foundation offering a continual service all day both to and from the event but ample parking was available for those preferring to use their own transport.
Many stalls were there offering the sale of books, clothes, jewellery and many other items and, being Thailand, nobody was going to go hungry or thirsty for there were a variety of foods and drinks available. The bouncy castle was very popular and children from the many charities that attended, entertained with various forms of singing and dancing.
Pattaya Sports Club has been a platinum sponsor of Jesters for the last 10 years and , in addition, we buy the raffle prizes which provides additional income for Jesters and we know that every last baht raised go to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Everyone was delighted with the facilities at Regents School and look forward to next year.
