Losing a John not necessarily a bad thing in Pattaya Softball
Sunday the 29th March 2009
Unlike being a working girl on the mean streets of Pattaya, it seems that losing a John or two in Pattaya softball is a good thing. Our battered bunch of batters often have the pleasure of playing with a plethora of Johns on any given Sunday in Jomtiem...

Double Landslides Shock Pattaya Softball Sunday
Apologies go out to my fellow softballers for the bittersweet overtones of this article. For the first time since I have had the pleasure of rounding the bases on a Sunday afternoon, Pattaya softball saw two lopsided and disappointing matches. I was a part of the team that won both games, but the excitement was spoiled by the fact that from the get go, the teams were not drawn up fairly.

Shawn the Big Triple header Winner
Sunday The 22nd Febuary 2009 |
A larger then average turnout February 22nd led to the lads playing 3, 5 inning games instead of the usual Sunday double header. Although some believed it was done as a ploy by yours truly to increase sausage and hamburger sales by the lovely (and multi-talented) ICE, it occurred because some guys were left on the sidelines in game 1, and also because Perry and his band of happy hitters beat Diego’s Dirty Dogs boys by more then 10 runs (which prompted the mercy rule).

Perhaps it was the pent up aggression from seeing just too many loud bikers invading our hallowed ground? Possibly it was the tenacity from watching the talented tennis ladies perform in Pattaya?

Over 40 softball hasbeens or never wases, made the trek to Jomtiem.

HAILING HOMERUNS IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON SOFTBALL SESSION
Sunday The 4th January 2009
On our first softball game to ring in the new year, it seemed that even the weather wanted a high scoring, action packed affair. The wind was gusting, and it was howling toward left field all day. It made the normally impossible home run wall in leftfield, and the roof above it, fair game for any hard and high hit balls.

Pattaya Softball plays a Triple while Goose is on the Loose
Sunday The 30th September 2008 |
On the last Sunday in November, on a bright, sunshiny day, a plethora of the softball lads showed up at Jimmy’s field of dreams to ring in the festive season. It was a great day for softball, and we had over 30 Pattaya people there to ring in the first pitch. Even kingpin Jimmy himself was there, after a few month hiatus. And yes, he was courteous as ever.

Controvercial call, signs of sunstroke send Softballers to the showers (bars) early
On the first gloriously sunny afternoon in Pattaya in months, a hearty group of softballers took to Jimmys field of dreams in Jomtien. Sunday softball saw the triumphant return to the game by one of its original members and founding fathers. Our best defensive pitcher, Alan happily returned to the line up after a lengthy struggle with Cancer. All the softball crew were elated to see him back on the mound, and although he has lost a step or two in his running speed, he is still a tough pitcher who plays tenacious defense.
