Tropical Golf 01/08

Tuesday The 1st August 2017: Khao Kheow (Stableford) This is a quality Course and also a real test of your golf. Hit a bad shot and it seems to lead to other bad shots, start to play bad and you have lost it. On this day the test was to be the A & B Nines and on a warm day we set forth.

The Course was suffering a little from the heavy rains of late  and the decision to play the yellow tees was made with some thought because the last few days had been dry. However with carts allowed on the fairways we considered the Course had dried out enough to be a test. And so it proved.

Off we went on the B Nine a little early and for the rest of the day we were able to move with no players ahead. Nice day and Millionaires Golf. The day was a little hot and one or two of the golfer suffered but generally all had a great day. The fairways were still damp and there was little run but the ball only occasionally picked up mud. The greens were generally fine but if anything a little slow. The rough here is always difficult and so it proved. Great day out on a great Course.

I really think a lift/elevator, as you wish, to the Restaurant would be a good idea as the walk up the stairs really test the tired out Golfers, mind one floor I suppose is good for the fitness. So a quick bite and back to BJ’s.

Really early back it was soon into the results and it was more of the same as the results meant the winners last Thursday won again. However the scores told of the difficulty of the Course. So the winner on the day with 33 points was Mashi Kaneta on countback over Dick Warberg in second. In third was John Davis with 32 points on countback over Tom Herrington in fourth.  Tom had looked all over the winner after 17 holes, but blew up on the 18th, and no points, to fall back to fourth. Such is Golf!!!

Best front Nine , Non Winner, was  Brian Gabe with 18 points and best back Nine, Non Winner, was John Pierrel.  So to a cold one, or three.  T.T.F.N.
