Form Reversal for Mike Jeffreys  at  Burapha

A fine Sunday morning for the gathering of golfers at Links Bar ready for the short trip to the picturesque Burapha Golf course.

One or two golfers were unaware of a change to a later Tee Time ( one being this scribe) and arrived at “The Links” quite early. So, what to do do?  Nothing better than a leisurely English  breakfast from the extensive Menu at  “The Links”.

Everyone else duly arrived and it was into the Minibus and cars ready for a great day out.

On arrival we found the course very busy, and after paying green fees went to the assembly area to find the cart and caddy attached to our golf bags. Did I say busy?

There was a large contingent of Korean golfers, all wearing the same ( we assume) company shirts. 2 or 3 of our group did a few laps looking for our gear, but to no avail. Then, after quizzing a Marshal, were told that there were not enough carts or caddies, but the early morning golfers will be coming in soon.

They did, and we loaded up and drove to the “C1” tee box with the first group getting away at the allocated 11.30 time slot. To our amazement,( the numbers of people we saw in the Clubhouse area) there was nobody in front of them. For the first 3 or 4 holes our last group had some company behind, but then never saw them again. Nice way to play golf, no pressure!

Some good, honest scores today on a testing, well groomed course..

By his own standards, Mike Jeffreys  had a shocker at Greenwood last Friday, but a welcome form reversal had him top of the Board with a fine  38 points.

2nd place went to a countback, with Maurice Roberts edging out Ray Banks, both with even 36 points.. Again no “2s” today,  so that prize jackpots to the next game. Get some practice.. it’s  going to worthwhile to the one who gets there first!

1st   Mike Jeffreys (c/h 20)………38pts

2nd   Maurice Roberts (c/h 12)…..36 pts on  countback

3rd   Ray Banks  (c/h13)…………36 pts

The complimentary golfers meal was a delicious Penang curry and rice. The tray of chips (French fries if you like) was also quickly emptied.Thank you to “ Links Bar”
