Royal Lakeside ( Stableford) The Royal Lakeside Golf and Country Club was the Venue for a Stableford Competition in two Flights, The A Flight was 0 to 19 and the B Flight was 20 and above.The Course on the day was in very good condition with the turf like Astroturf and also very fast greens.  Walter Bachli took the A Flight with 40 points ahead of Karlotta Eisendotter in second with 36 points on countback over Brendon Byrne in third.  Jan Lovgren took the B Flight with 40 points with Ray Phillips in second with 39 points and Peter Hammond in third with 38 points. Thursday The 10th January 2008:

Greenwood ( Stableford)     I always seem to be zooming up the road to this Course. That is probably because all in all, it is not only one of the favourite for the players, but of the Organisers as well. We do not get many wingers here.  On this day we had a pretty full house, and were soon on the first tee ready to go, that was when we remembered the tee off time was thirty minutes hence. Never mind it gave us some time to catch our breath, before we were away on the test for the day, the B& C Nines.  As usual the Course was in fine condition, and the weather was fine, so we could expect some fine scores, and of course we got them  In the A Flight 0 to 18, the winner was Koji Yamada, despite a 2 shot cut for Tuesday,with 39 points. I foresee a couple of more shots less next time he plays. In second was Jerry Kurtz, surprise what?, with 37 points. Jerry does not usually play well but with his new handicap will be a contender. In third was Kevin Dunne with 36 points and in fourth was Derek Brook with 35 points.  In the B Flight, 19 up, the scores were better, but then they have a few more shots to play with. However the winner Brendon Byrne had a fine 41 points ahead of P.S.Basi in second with 39 points. We then had a countback for the next two places with Volmer Buley in third, Henry O'Brien in fourth with Einar Utoft just missing out, all had 38 points. T.T.F.N.
