Growling Swan 25/05

“Sal just too Classy”.

14 players ventured out to Greenwood CG for the Monthly Mug. Anyways we had an eager bunch of boys and girls keen to get out and have a hit at Greenwood CC.

We played A & B nines, from the Yellow tees, as usual the course was in great condition but a little damp due to overnight rain, hence no carts on fairways which made it a long walk for some, The greens played as they normally do on this great course. The weather was quite warm (as it should be this time of year) with no rain is sight but, as the day got longer the lack of breeze made it somewhat uncomfortable. On the return to The Swan we greeted many red faces and that had nothing to do with scores, more to do with lack of sunblock. A lot slept the journey home.

With a small field we were to play 1 Division only which made the day very competitive. It was Sal Brizzy who came up trumps returning a fine score of 68net (73 off the stick fantastic golf). He tipped out Colin Stielow 69net who beat Shane Young on a countback coming in second and third with 4th place going to Martin Kempton with 71net beating the countback king Steve Younger
