Growling Swan 30/11
PSC GOLF REPORT – GROWLING SWAN
CRYSTAL BAY – 30th November, 2017.
The Kevin Grose Memorial Day & November Monthly Mug.
Takeshi takes both Prizes!
Twenty Six golfers turned out to take part in The Kevin Grose Memorial Shield and The November Monthly Mug! It was 5 years ago this week that we lost Kevin and as an annual event it is supported very well by the punters at The Growling Swan. I have made a decision that whilst The Growling Swan exists we will continue to remember Big Kev!.
The Venue was Crystal Bay a great course that we travel to at least once per month. We were not to be disappointed the course, as per usual was in great nick. We played courses C and B from the Yellow Tees, maybe a bit short for some but remember Thursday is Delinquent’s Day!
The weather was sultry and a bit on the muggy side for our 7 groups. It did get better as the day got longer a slight breeze offered some relief.
Div 1 saw Takeshi Hakozaki lead from the outset, his return of net 67 gave him enough to take first place on what was an important day. Both Monthly Mug day and Kevin Grose Day. Second was John Edwards with Nat and Bill Steinmann filling third and fourth.
Div 2 Saw late inclusion Robert Cross take the division out with a score of Net 68, probably his best game in a while. Denis Tooth and Alex Field had to go to the countback with Denis getting the nod. Rudy Regenass filled fourth spot.
