PSC GOLF REPORT – GROWLING SWAN

STABLEFORD

MOUNTAIN SHADOW – 24TH April 2017

JJ Harney Tops The Pops, could it be a week too early?

With only twenty golfers we did set out to tackle The Infamous Mountain Shadow, only one bus required and there were a couple of cars we headed out. Game On!

Playing off the Blue Tees there was no excuse for the lower than average scores. Although the greens were tricky with their contours forever coming into play, the course itself presented no real issues and plenty of run was available if fairways were here you landed.

The weather Gods smiled upon us but as the day got longer it did warm up quite a bit. No rain in sight and a clear fairway in front of us so once again, Game on!

With the numbers down we only played the one flight but kept all novelties going.

It was JJ Harney that showed the way and his 36 points were by far the best on the day. Everybody knew that he had won as he did ring the bell as he does when he comes up trumps. Taking out second was Lindsay Slender one point ahead of Colin Stielow, with Buffalo Bill Steinman fighting off two (countback required) to take fourth spot. The unlucky two were Wayne Harman and Colm Lawlor.

D-For our Charity Dog was set amongst the punters to collect for the needy around the throng for some spare change to boost his collections. D-For has collected much needed funds to help the less than fortunate of Pattaya and surrounding areas with tens of thousands of baht having been injected over the past few years to several institutions or needy families via the PSC.

Deefa’s bowl is currently in excess of 50,000 baht and the PSC will soon again be contacted to look for a situation where the golfers who have kindly dug deep, can be rewarded in the knowledge that their generosity has been well distributed.

The GS is a “friendly” golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers, young and old, male or female to have a hit on any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested in playing on 0861 503086
