Growling Swan 09/01

STABLEFORD

Emerald GC – 9th Jan 2017.

STUART is the MANN beating The VIPER.

Had been a while since we ventured to the Jewel of the southern Pattaya Emerald Golf Course. With 24 starters it was a good field for a Monday, and although rain threatened not enough H20 fell to fill the proverbial egg cup!

From all reports the course was in very good condition. We played from the White Tees and as per usual the greens were playing true. The decision was made to play with, Pick Clean and place (1 card length only) and on fairways only! Great value for a very good course.

As stated earlier the number of starters allowed us to play 2 divisions, A Flight was 0 to 22 and B Flight gave us 23 plus.

In “A Flight” we saw 3 points separating our 3 place getters, It was Stuart Mann that got the job done correctly, he has been threatening a win with podium finishes over the last few weeks, Well done Stuart. Coming in second only one point behind was “The Viper” Mark Stapleton. With Tony Ryan filling third spot again only one point back.

“B Flight was a completely different story with 3 players achieving the same scores thus putting us in to count back mode. It finished in this order John Coetzee took the contest from Andy Zwart with Andrew Allen finishing third. A great round guys well done indeed!
