Silky Oak

10 players for Silky Oak today and the weather looking good, with 3 of the dream team making a rare Sunday appearance after Thursdays Triumph, But unfortunately the luck had left most of them , Steve Baker had a creditable 37 pts but Stan with 33 pts and Neil 28 pts could not cope with the early rising. But as usual Kevin Mc Entee stepped up to the mark with a strong 39 pts off his 6 hcp. Closely followed by Paul West on his last game here till October with 38 pts and a little traveling money and Steve Baker beat Steve Coghlan on countback

Monday 31st July

Khao Kheow  B&C

17 players for Khao Kheow today a very good turnout the course in perfect condition so we had 2 flights with 2 places in each & 4 near pins and the longest 1st phut on hole 18 .We welcomed back from Ireland Noel & Mary Geoghegan and their son who lives in Australia, also taking a break from the driving range Mick Odnoral, Peter Terry, John Ianson & Bruce Walters. In A flt it was the wile  old fox from Liverpool Steve Baker with 37 pts one ahead of Stuart Brown another new comer with 36 pts, In B flt making all thous hours on the range pay off Nick Odnoral with the days best score of 38 pts and to his greatest surprise Matt Cronin 2nd with 34 pts.

Wednesday 2nd August

Bangpakong  Riverside

13 players for our trip up the motorway to Bangpakong Riverside everyone looking forward to their favorite course in the area and they were not disappointed . Stan Stewart who last time shot 47 pts on this course , and was out to prove it was no fluke started like a pro on the ninth tee he had 22 pts , so what doe’s he doonly birdies the hole for 5 pts with 2 shots on the hole,The Donkeys bet not looking good. He slowed down a bit on the back with a lost ball up a coconut tree & a blob on the last for 19 pts total 46 pts.5 shots back another new comer Espen Kristofersen with 41 pts & Tip Briney 3rd with 40 pts The Near Pins were both claimed by Kevin Mc Entee with Barry Oats the longest Phut

Friday 4th August

Crystal Bay  C & B

Back to normal with the numbers todayas a few head back home, Just 7 players for today at Crystal Bay and with the course nearly empty we teed off right on time, Barry Oats playing off the yellow tees knew it was his day, after 11 pts on the 1st 4 holes his caddy could not belive it was the same Barry no screams of anger no club throwing who was this imposter, 22 pts on the front & 21 pts on the back with a birdie 2 on the par 3 B5 led him to the top of the podium.Stan Smith had a up and down card 5 blobs 3x 4pts holes 4 x3pts holes for 36 pts and a suprising 2nd place, Then Steve Baker with a good back nine of 20 pts3rd with 35 pts The Donkey claimed the only Near Pin.
