Near Pins Colin Greig X 2, Les Hall, Michael Brett

It seems like the past history of this course continues to haunt it, previously the course had a bad reputation, however it is now in good shape and well worth a visit. The fairways are still well grassed but the greens were a tad on the slow side compared to some other courses we play. A smaller than expected group of seventeen players competed, could be the day it was with some enjoying the New Year festivities a bit too much.

We had a new face in the winners circle with Akira Sekiya taking first place with thirty-five points. Colin Greig still enjoying a good run of form took second place a stroke back and Frank Quinlan and Les Humphrey took third and fourth respectively with thirty-four points, all three on countback. Near pins went to Les Hall, Michael Brett and two to Colin Greig. Two noteable shots went to Les Hall who chipped in out of a bunker for parr from about thirty yards and Michael Brett who sank a forty foot putt on the seventeenth.
