PSC Golf From Tropical Bert's Beach Bar
Tuesday The 10th June 2008

Greenwood ( Stableford) This was to be one of those awkward days when some of the players were to play Match play against another outlet and the remainder were to play as normal, a Stableford Competition. We will disregard the Match play, as technically it was an away game and it will be reported elsewhere, suffice to say we all went back to Bert's and a good night was had by all.
In the Competition, it was played on the A & C Nines, and as is usual these days the Course was in good condition, however we had some funny runs on the greens, or so most people described their putting. The Course always seems to be windy, and on this day, guess what? it was windy, and stormy and the biggest rain storm of the year chased us from the Course.
It is quite cosy in those rest stops, yes we were really lucky, and you can even get hot coffee to dry you out and warm you up. Mind all good things must come to an end, and we soon emerged into a World of rivers and soaking wet grass. The temperature however was superb and apart from the fact that the sole of my golf shoes will probably fall off in the near future, we were able to get on with the game.
The Restaurant here is all that it needs to be, quite basic but well priced with good food, and we were able to relax as the last few soaking wet players slowly came in. We all felt really sorry for them.
Back at Bert's we were able to partake of his golfers special and then get on with the presentation. The winner with a fine 42 points was Badger. I asked him where his nickname came from and he told me his hair was so wiry they thought he looked like a Badger when he was younger. In second place was Gordon Clegg with 39 points. We then had to look in the dust before we found Koji in third with 31 points and Nigel Perry in fourth with 30 points. T.T.F.N.
