Tuesday, September 9th saw the usual suspects line up at the Pattaya Country Club. While the clouds were threatening they held off until all the players got off the course.

The fairways were soaked from the rain of Monday night and they were giving very little roll, in more than a few cases the balls almost disappeared in the soaked soil.

The local flies were out in force and in more than a few cases provided a distraction to players. The greens were another horror story. Covered with morning dew and recent mowing, judging the stroke was nearly impossible.

The balls not only had a rooster tail but wound up with a nice coating of mowed green grass. Not withstanding the hardships, Dale Murphy rose to the occasion with a resounding 31, surely one of the lowest winning scores in months.

Richard Hall and Walt Straub came "roaring" in with 30 points each. Richard had 18 on the back nine against Walt's 13. The remainder of the field have asked that their scores not be referenced.

Despite the tough going on the course, all participants retired to Caddy Shack II to wolf down one or more of Herb Ishinaga provided hot sausage or hot dogs washed down by Manila's finest."
