PSC Fishing – Early November Trip
Pattaya Sports Club Fishing Trip Report – early November 2013
Fishing is probably no different from any other sport – it has its highs and lows, the days when you can do no wrong, and those when whatever you try just doesn’t produce the results. Our two trips so far this month have precisely illustrated that simple fact.
Saturday 2nd saw a full complement of eight out of Bang Saray in fine weather, and Colin reports “ The trip was a success .. It seems everyone caught something worthy of note and there was a general “buzz” of excitement and anticipation nearly all day.” At least five nice Greys were caught, the largest of these by Ray, and later on in the day Colin and Paul landed a barracuda apiece. Colin’s son Ryan got a shark of at least 80cm which he returned to the sea, as well as the excellent Stripey Seaperch.
Unfortunately nothing like as much fun was had a few days later when a team reduced to four by illness and golf injury (give it up, Charlie!) set out from Sattahip on Thursday 7th with high hopes. A variety of locations both at anchor and drifting mostly off the outer shores of Ko Chuang gave us a frustrating time, with the large fish biting through lines or taking gear to the bottom and the normal prey ignoring our bait for long periods.
Between us we got a few nice Grouper and Snapper, but not much to write home about. Colin got a small Barracuda, and Chairman John a small Jack, and a
Bluelined Rockcod. And, er, that’s it – ah well, there’s always next time.
Our remaining scheduled trips in November are on Saturday 16th and Thursday 28th. The schedule so far for December is Saturday 7th, Thursday 12th and Saturday 21st, possibly also Saturday 28th or another date between Christmas and New Year.
