PSC Fishing 07/09
On Saturday much quieter conditions than on recent trips enabled the boat to venture further out from the shelter of Ko Khram and were rewarded with some decent fish. John H. landed a Grey weighing in around 1.5Kilos. Our photo shows Paul being congratulated by the boat crew on catching a nice Yellowtail for his supper.
However, fishermen’s tales are rarely complete without something about the “One That Got Away”, so here is Colin’s….. “…it was that good it took a whole squid fished close to the bottom and ran off into the wilderness before spitting the bait out, but believe it or not, it came back for more, and was determined not to let go (it stripped almost 100% of the line). It didn’t let go, but the chances of actually landing it were very remote, it took off the second time and eventually broke free leaving me with tears in my eyes and a real slack line, looked like the 40lb braid snapped at the swivel !!!”
Our September pursuit of such monsters of the deep resumes on Saturday 21st, with a further trip on Thursday 26th. In October we plan trips on Saturday 5th, Thursday 10th and Saturday 19th. There are currently vacancies for all these dates.
