PSC Fishing 05/10
Pattaya Sports Club Fishing Report – early October 2013
The South-West monsoon has been pretty unrelenting in recent weeks, and on a couple of trips in late September, the brave souls who ventured out have found conditions pretty hard going, sometimes with not many fish to show for their efforts. However, Dene, on his first outing for some time, reported a haul of at least 12 kilos of decent-size fish, showing that they are still there to be caught.
On Saturday 5th October the group set out in relatively calm conditions, and mid-morning Colin hooked a fine Cobia with a small live-bait. Then, he said, “I got a new whole squid on the hook & tossed it about 10 feet from the boat and was beginning to let out line when BOOM the second one attacked – great fight for a few minutes!! There was actually a third one but it simply took a few nibbles out of the squid & disappeared.” After posing proudly with these two fine specimens he had to sit down for a while, but that was the end of any excitement for the day since no-one else had similar luck, as in the afternoon the wind and waves increased and the fish stopped biting.
Our other trips in October are scheduled for Thursday 10th, and Saturday 19th, there are vacancies on the 19th. Our November schedule will be announced soon. For further details and bookings visit http://pattayasports.org/ or phone John O’Neill on 0853917045
